SPRAY FOAM INSULATION
Spray Foam Insulation in rim joists and crawl spaces can save you money on heating and cooling costs!
Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation:
Spray Foam Insulation in Crawl Spaces
Spray foam insulation installed between the floor joists in your crawl space is the only material that will create an effective thermal barrier from obstructions such as wiring and plumbing, ductwork, and narrow or wide joist spacing. Spray foam can also provide a more uniform, consistent thermal barrier than traditional insulation.
If the crawl space in your home is not fully sealed, there is a strong likelihood that contaminated air, earth gases, mold, rodents, and more can penetrate your living space.
Fiberglass insulation "batts" are often compressed during installation, due to the use of wire insulation hangers. Open web floor trusses are virtually impossible to adequately insulate with batts.
Covering the exposed soils of the crawl space floor with foam insulation and high density reinforced plastic serves as an effective moisture barrier and also helps reduce heating and cooling costs. It will also prevent "stack-effect" air and moisture movement into the home's walls and upward into the living space, which can cause even more problems.
