Although rare, wood foundations were a popular choice for homes built in the 1980s and 1990s for their sustainability, warmth and affordability. Like their block and poured concrete counterparts, wood foundations can become bowed, wet or otherwise compromised when exposed to moisture or other environmental pressures. Advanced Construction Services is one of the few Minnesota contractors with the knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain and repair homes with treated wood foundations. We will customize your repair or work within your Engineer's scope of work to design a repair with a lifetime warranty, keeping your home sound and dry for future generations.
Buying a Home with a Wood Foundation?
All foundations should be inspected for current or past moisture at the time of sale. When possible, pull back insulation around the foundation and inspect for efflorescence. A qualified home inspector is recommended for any home purchase, regardless of the foundation type.
